It’s been an exciting two weeks here in Germany. They are currently in the middle of their Euro 2008 football championships. You would not believe how big football is in Europe until you’re here to experience it. Germany won again tonight giving them a chance for the championship. Office pools are going nuts about the games

I remember at work during the Oriole games while working in Baltimore. We get our baseball picks in an office pool and I believe at one time I almost won. It’s America’s Favorite Past time - - how can you not participate?

They are very enthusiastic here - - I wish I can experience the same thing during the baseball season!

We attended a 5K run sponsored by JP Morgan Chase at downtown Frankfurt yesterday, June 11th.  There were reportedly seventy three thousand participants and our colleagues here in Germany participated as well.  The run was a short run compared to the 10M run in Philadelphia but proceeds from the run goes to charity so a lot of people participated.  Just imagine being in the middle of this event.  It was exhilirating.

The weather was nice and perfect running weather.  One colleague from the U.S. joined the German runners and he said it was great!
