We found that certain online stores provide high-quality, durable goods that you could sell on eBay. We started with selling our own stuff which progressed into buying new items to add to our store. Everywhere we go, we are on the lookout for items to be sold. One secret about selling on eBay is diversity.
You cannot sell one product which is a hit and expect that to last you a lifetime. Each product has its “popularity” life just like anything else. One day, you could be successful in selling t-shirts or socks, and the next minute people will be looking for something else. When we sold DVDs on eBay, we knew that we had to diversify, otherwise the market will be saturated and we will end up with useless inventory.
So we started selling artwork and apparel. A big seller for us are original works of art that we purchased through auctions. We also had a short but sweet success in selling apparel. The high-sellers are A&F shorts and pants, plain white t-shirts and socks during the school season. You can always find things but remember to research your product first before buying truckloads of it. You don’t want to end up with a living room filled with t-shirts and end up putting up a garage sale to get rid of them. Test the market - always.

So true, so true. Not testing the markets is why so many people fail (in infoproducts as well as goods).
I think what was worse was when I tried the ’sell children’s clothing’ idea - after I compiled the time to take photos, list the auctions, pack the items, drive to the post office, I discovered I cleared…below minimum wage!
It was character-building I tell you.
